Esperanto Language, Alphabet and Pronunciation The majority of Esperanto roots are based on Latin, though some vocabulary is taken from modern Romance languages, and from English, German, Polish and Russian. Roots can be combined with affixes to form new words, for example: lerni = to learn, lernejo = a school, lernanto = a pupil/student, lernejestro = a headmaster.
Esperanto - The International Language Esperanto is an international language, developed by Dr. L.L. Zamenhof in 1887. It is used as a common second language, allowing people around the world to communicate easily. Esperanto is a very elegantly and logically constructed language, and very easy to learn compared to other languages.
Here is the Esperanto alphabet. Each letter always makes the same sound, and spelling is perfectly regular.
Dr. Esperanto’s International Language The original 1887 Esperanto proposal, back in print for a new millennium. Esperanto - the easy-to-learn neutral second language for every country. Today, Esperanto is alive and well around the world, and throughout the Internet.
