This course, the first in a series of three, is intended as a
review of basic concepts in probability and statistics. It is
geared toward the student who has already taken an academic
course in statistics and needs a refresher before going back to
school, or for anyone who would like an introduction to the

prerequisites for this course are a decent level of comfort with
basic algebraic manipulation and coordinate geometry. Statistics

applicable to a wide variety of academic disciplines from the physical
and social sciences to the humanities, as well as to business,
government, and industry.
Introduction to Descriptive Statistics
This branch of statistics lays the foundation for all
statistical knowledge (pretty important, huh?), but it is not something
that you should learn simply so you can use it in the distant future.
Descriptive statistics can be used NOW, in English class, in physics
class, in history, at the football stadium, in the grocery store.
