Children's Fiction: In-Depth Plotting
This is a course designed for those
who wish to delve more deeply into the art of
writing short stories for children. It will lead the
student through four plot patterns, drafting a story
for each pattern, then rewriting and polishing these
stories. Final lessons will cover how to study a
magazine, building a marketing list, marketing
strategies and basic manuscript format

Online Writing Course (Children Writing)
In this highly interactive, hands-on course, you'll take pen to
paper and begin work on your very first fiction or nonfiction
manuscript. In the process, you'll explore the changing world of
children's literature and understand the various formats--from
baby's first books to novels for young adults. You'll get
insights from guest authors and editors to gain a better
understanding of the needs of today's market. By researching the
genre and recognizing niche players, you'll open doors of
opportunity, many of which you may not have previously
considered.
Write Short Stories for Children
This course is designed for those who
wish to write short stories for children. It will
lead the student through the basics of this art form
into the specifics of characterization, age groups,
plotting and outlining, drafting a story for
children, rewriting and polishing the work. Final
lessons will cover manuscript preparation and
marketing strategies. Students will receive personal
instructor feedback and critique. The goal of this
course is to increase a student's chance for
publication.
Write Tidbits for Tots through Teens
This course is designed for those who
consider writing nonfiction for kids a creative
venture. It is designed to help the writer sell two
types of short fillers that abound in children's
magazines: crafts and recipes. A short segment also
will concern writing cute kid sayings for adult
markets. The student will learn how to build an Idea
Bank to work from, how to study a magazine and build
a market list for each writing.
